Electrical Aptitude Test Portal
IBEW / NECA Electrical Aptitude Test Prep

The test filters out people who can already do the work.

Most candidates who take the electrical apprenticeship test fail — not because they don't understand tools or wiring, but because of brutal test pacing and no-calculator algebra. And a fail locks you out with a mandatory 90-day waiting period.

This simulator is how you beat the 85-second reading trap, master mental algebra, and score in Stanine Tier 7–9 on your first try.

Why 60%+ of Trade Applicants Fail

The Electrical Training Alliance (etA) test is designed to measure speed and triage under pressure.

The 85-Second Reading Trap

Section 2 gives you 36 technical reading questions in 51 minutes. That is only 85 seconds per question including reading multi-paragraph passages. Candidates get stuck reading slowly, run out of time, and leave the last 10 blank.

Calculators Strictly Banned

Section 1 tests 33 algebra & function questions in 46 minutes. Zero calculators are permitted. You must factor quadratics, solve systems of equations, and identify number patterns by hand with pencil and scratch paper.

The 90-Day Lockout Penalty

If you score below the stanine cutoff (Standard Score 4), most JATCs enforce a mandatory 90-day waiting period before you can re-test. Passing on your first try saves months of career delay.
